Most youths are tempted to be on a relationship even at their very young age, because all of their friends does and what would be the reason to why not give it a try? Having their own girlfriend or boyfriend somewhat gives them a sense of belonging and importance. If not guided with their desires, then our youth can lead to wrong decisions they could regret for the rest of their lives.
There is an increasing incidence of teenage pregnancies because of premarital sex. And majority of married people ended in broken relationships. With these existing problems, we worked on creating a post heart's day celebration intended for youth to teach them the biblical principles on love, courtship and marriage.
The event was held at the church hall. February 17, 2012 at 4 pm. With the help of our youth leaders we were able to organize the program and invite guests.
It was an afternoon of fun games with music. The main program was like a dating game so that it is easier to invite un-church youths. We invited Christian siblings who also happens to be pastor's children, they served as our searchers in that afternoon. We have three ladies and three men whom the searchers will get to chose. We have prepared five sets of questions to be answered by the contestants. We carefully chose the questions that will lead us to discuss important matters about love, courtship and marriage.
The program ended successfully. What I am earnestly praying for is that our youths will get to follow the biblical principles in choosing their lifetime partners, that they may be able to overcome temptations most specially our youth leaders.
We have new youths coming in our fellowships. Please pray that as we minister to them, we may be able to share how depth is the love of God and feel this love in ways of our service.
